Dirt Road Heartache

Kim McAbee_

Kim McAbee

It was a time when Buck Owen, Tammy Wynette and Merle Haggard dominated the airwaves. As a young girl, Kim remembers highlighting movies in the T.V. Guide starring Elvis Presley and Judy Garland just to see and hear them sing.

Her first performance on stage came at the age of 13 when she was asked to sing 'Paper Roses' at the Kern County Fair. This was only the start of her passion for performing. Kim's first job with a band was acquired after she entered a Local Talent Contest. Six months later she was introduced to Keyboard Player and Buckaroo Jim Shaw, who would later produce her first CD, 'Make Believin'. Soon after this Kim began performing with the legendary Buckaroos.

In 1995 before the construction of the Crystal Palace was complete, Buck Owens hired Kim as an addition to his upcoming shows. At that time Kim McAbee became one of just a few women to sing with 'Buck Owens and the Buckaroos'. The magic that is shared on the stage is undeniable. Now referred to as 'Miss Kim' she has become the 'Worlds only Buckarette" , with audiences listening to the shows each week on two radio stations (KUZZ 107.1 FM and Real Country 55 AM.) covering the West Coast as well as being broadcast all over the world on the internet at www.buckowens.com
